Daniella Hulme,is an Auckland-based, full-time established artist since 1998. Her work reflects the union of two cultures, her own Dutch heritage and her husband's Samoan heritage. Themes of bi-culturalism, Pacific navigation,ideal utopian celebrations of Pacifica and living in idyllic settings to the urbanisation of cultures, the need to respect cultural differences and pressures to maintain identities underpins her work.
 
"Strong, bright colours and clearly delineated, stylised motifs reminiscent of Pacific Islands' tapa cloths and carvings combine to striking effect in the works of Daniella Hulme" by Lyndal Jefferies Gulf News 2007.
 
She has had numerous group and solo shows both in New Zealand and abroad since 1998.Her work is included in many private and corporate collections both in New Zealand and around the world.
 
In 2006 her work was bought by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, New Zealand Embassy in De Hague, Holland.
She has had work featured in Disney movie "Johnny Kapahala" and was a featured artist on Pacific Beat St TV 3 in 2007. Her work is regularly represented in the Artfind annual Calendar.
 
Daniella has been a finalist in the Waitakare Licensing Trust Awards, Norsewear Art Awards, Goldwater Art awards and many more.
 
During 2007 she was commissioned to create a large triptych by His Excellency Governor-General Anand Satyanand to be given as gift from New Zealand to the Tokelau Islands.
In 2008 she was commissioned to design and create the official Xmas card for Government House; His Excellency Governor-General Anand Satyanand for 2008 and 2009.
 
She had a sell-out show Oct 2009 Exhibitions gallery of fine art, Wellington
 
Daniella is featured in 2 NZ contemporary art books; 2006 "New Zealand's favourite artists" volume 1, and 2011 "Artists Impressions of NZ" both written by Independant art consultant Denis Robinson.
 
International publishing house Brown Trout published a 2011 wall calendar " Colours of the Pacific" of Daniella's work.
 
January 2011 Daniella won an International Art Award for Excellence in the arts, in the Palm Art Awards, Leipzig, Germany for her figurative work.
 
October 2011 she won a Silver award for her figurative work in the International "Art curated prize September Classic" competition hosted by Showartists, Santa Fe
 
Her work has been published in 2 International art books " Who's who in visual arts" volume 2012-2013, published by Arts Domain, Germany and " International Contemporary Artists" volume 3, 2012, I.C.A. Publishing, New York.
